The Andy Griffith Show

 

The Andy Griffith sitcom series never won any award during the eight season run and even Griffith failed to grab any, but co-stars like Bavier and Knotts accumulated few awards.

However, in later life, after the end of the series in 1968, Andy Griffith did managed getting some crown on his head. Below are the details:

Walk of Fame – Star of the Walk of Fame award for the category television for Andy Griffith Show.

1981 – Nominated

Primetime Emmy Awards – Primetime Emmy for the category Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series or a Special for Murder in Texas (1981)

1987 – Won

People’s Choice Awards, USA – People’s Choice Award for category Favorite Male Performer in a New TV Program for Andy Griffith Show.

2012 – Nominated

Television Critics Association Awards – Career Achievement Award for Andy Griffith Show.

2003 – Won

TV Land Award for the category Single Dad of the Year for Andy Griffith Show.

2004 – Won

TV Land Awards – Legend Award for The Andy Griffith Show. The award was shared with Don Knotts, Jim Nabors, George Lindsey, Elinor Donahue, Betty Lyn, Howard Morris, Maggie Mancuso, writer of the series Harey Bullock, composer of the series Earle Hagen and producer of the show Aaron Ruben.
